Abid Ali

Abid joined Dogwood Ventures to back outlier founders and be more than a check: a partner who rolls up his sleeves and leverages our network of operators and builders. Before Dogwood, he was a Principal at MCN Ventures, where he led seed stage investments in companies like BlastPoint and Reconnect, served on portfolio boards, and stepped into interim CEO and CFO roles. Earlier, as a Vice President at Finback Partners, he backed KnowBe4, Evolv Technology, DataBank, Trojan Labor and Sabre Industries. He started his career in banking at Bank of America, though his first job was working the grill and waiting tables at a Waffle House.

Abid earned his MBA from Michigan Ross as a Dean's Scholar and Consortium Fellow and his undergraduate degree in Finance from Florida International University. He's the proud father of Isa and shares life with his partner Brooke. Weekends are for basketball, long drives out of the city, and swapping stories about Fox Body Mustang builds that went sideways.
